While you don't need a "special" frame, Purple mattresses are heavy and require sturdy support. We recommend our platform beds, adjustable bases, or a foundation with a sturdy bed frame. Slats should be no more than 3 inches apart.
We generally do not recommend traditional wire box springs as they don't provide adequate support for the GelFlex Grid and can void your warranty. Instead, use a solid foundation, platform bed, or adjustable base.
Yes! While designed perfectly for Purple mattresses, our adjustable bases will work with most foam, latex, and hybrid mattresses that are specifically designed to be flexible.
Most of our bed frames and foundations are designed for quick, tool-free assembly (or include the only tool you need). Adjustable bases may require minor assembly and are quite heavy, so we recommend two people for setup.
